Navodaya, Our Sculptor

To be away from parents,
little fingers to plait,
to wake up early,
to keep ourselves clean,
washing and cleaning on our own,
jogging and exercise in morning,
living with punctual sense
were our first experience.
Those were difficult days.
You taught us, Yes you taught us
To be independent.

Enthusiasm is the electricity of life
Loving teachers enabled refined thoughts,
reflected love and care to new comers,
those difficult days changed attitude and action.
Upon regular practice became habits,
helped to modify our characters
turned us faceted gems
transformed our destiny
Yes, you made us what we are now!

This is a poem written by me for the Silver Jubilee magazine of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Karaikal
